As soon as we moved out here to Bedford and, for the first time, had yard and room for growing, I felt the need to put in a garden. It helped that it was April at the time. That first effort was a small thing, only three feet by eight if I recall, but we've expanded it every year since then and now have some considerable area under cultivation. We've also put in a variety of flowering perennials here and there—though still nowhere like enough!—to rectify the complete absence of any such thing previously.
2010 will be our fourth year of gardening, and we have high hopes for the food production. The garden is bigger than ever, the seeds have been procured (and some already planted under the lights), and I'm ready to invest some serious time and energy!
